It is an unfortunate fact of life that there are those among the general p[pubic who feel that they can take what is not theirs.  We have been informed by Hampshire police that cars parked in North lane have become a target of thieves. over the weekend of the 21-21nd of January.

as always we advise that no property is left in vehicles, including under seats or in the boot. If you see any suspicious activity, call the police strait away.

Early Summer in the Woods 2011

The bluebells didn’t last long this year, and were over by the beginning of May, and the bluebell and wood anemone leaves have gone over too, so now the wood has settled down to its green and brown phase.

Now we have several coppice coups cut there are more flowers during the summer, and this encourages butterflies and other insects, which in their turn attract birds, small mammals and bats. We may even get some nightingales over the next few years as more of the coups get to the thicket stage.  We have put up temporary deer fence round some of the coppice coups. Please leave it alone; it is necessary to stop the deer eating the new shoots of the coppice.

We often leave some of the timber stacked in the coups to allow it to season so that it can be used for firewood and charcoal The sale of the product helps to fund our work in the woods, so please do not take any of it.

We want to make this a place for wildlife, where people can come for a quiet walk, and are working to improve the woods. Please help us to achieve this aim by following our requests below.
